In 2026 they were headed for another before lightning ended the game tied at 28 w/4:43 left in the 3rd quarter on September 11, 2026. DJ Green, Jordan Jackson, Marshall Kenner, Luca Antoun and Weston Smith put on a show but the game never had a winner. NCAA & UIL got rid of ties in 1996 so officially the game went down as a no-contest.
