San Antonio Antonian softball made a big statement on May 19, 2026, by winning the TAPPS 1A softball state title against Plano John Paul II. The game was not easy. Antonian had to wait through a weather delay of more than five hours before finally taking the field again. But once the game continued, the team stayed focused and came away with an exciting 11-8 win. This victory was extra special because Antonian had lost to Plano John Paul II in the state final two of the last three years. This time, the Apaches got their payback. Isabella Garza had a huge game, going 4-for-4 at the plate. Antonian also hit three home runs, helping the team win its first state title since 2022.
