4th SA area school to ever win UIL LSC
San Antonio Davenport didn’t win a single team UIL state title in 2025-2026 and didn’t even have a team reach a state final. But the Wolves athletics/academics were consistent enough to lift them past Canyon High to win the UIL 4A Lone Star Cup by 3 points over the Eagles. Canyon won 4 team state titles but Davenport had more teams reach deeper playoff rounds.
Davenport, which opened in 2021, is the 4th San Antonio area school to win it and the 1st since Boerne Champion in 2011. It marked the 5th state championship for Comal ISD this year after Smithson Valley won titles in football and girl’s soccer (1st perfect SA area team in any sport since 1995) and Pieper won titles in boy’s soccer and girl’s golf.
The only other area school to win the Lone Star Cup is San Antonio Churchill who won the 1st LSC in 1998 and again in 2000.
