1989 was a big year for San Antonio area high school basketball. Shaquille O’Neal led Cole to the state title. Ski Jones captained Marshall and Bo Outlaw was a hard player to stop at Jay. All 3 made the NBA and Outlaw will head into the NISD Northside ISD Hall of Honor in July.
Outlaw played college at South Plains and the University of Houston. He went undrafted in the 1994 NBA Draft but played 13 years in the league with several times, primarily the Orlando Magic, and still is a community ambassador for the Magic.
Fellow Jay alum Josh Reynolds will also go into the 2nd NISD HOF induction class on July 24, 2026.
